The PTA
The Alvarado PTA works hand-in-hand with the school's administration to organize events and programs and to raise the funds necessary to realize these activities. Through the efforts of the PTA, we have hired staff to assist with reading comprehension, literacy, technology, and community outreach. PTA funds are also used to offer enrichment classes in art, music and science that reinforce and augment the core curriculum.
PTA Events
Every year the PTA organizes a plethora of events, such as the fall family picnic, spring carnival, and our annual fundraising auction. These events are great community builders and are fun for all involved. See the calendar for specific dates.Get Involved!
There are so many ways for you to get involved with the PTA. Organize an event. Join a committee. Teach an Afterschool club. Raise money for programs and enrichment activities. We encourage you to dive in and participate!Afterschool Clubs
Afterschool Clubs are a great way for children to have fun exploring new hobbies or perfecting old favorites. Typical offerings include dance, drumming, knitting, clay, art, chess, Italian conversation and Spanish.Stay Connected!
Alvarado's Yahoo group is a great way to stay connected with an active group of Alvarado parents. It's a forum for exchanging ideas and information, and for staying up-to-date on the latest school information.
